What am i supposed to do if a summoner is demanding my role during character select

Enter character select and someone asks for my role. After i tell them no they tell me they're going to lock into my role. What is the protocol from riot to what i am supposed to do in this situation. Is pre-game chat even looked at? I have never ever been told that any of my reports resulted in a punishment in my years of playing. Queue dodging isn't a valid call here because then i sacrifice my ability to even report them.

Say no and play your role. The system automatically looks for people not playing their assigned role and flags them to find out if it was a mutual decision or not. If it's not, it's a punishable offense.

And yes, pre and post-game chat are able to be reviewed for punishments. Simply make a note of when it happened in the report you file after the game is over.

What about players that pick "support"? Since there is no definition by rito of what support does/doesn't have to do.

I'm not sure what you mean. Support has been defined by the community as playing bot lane. Again, if you decide as a team that you wish to change up the roles, that's fine. However, if the rest of your team doesn't want to do that, you play the role as designated by the community.

Sure, by the community. But since Riot doesn't "enforce a meta", there is no rule against picking support and going anywhere that you want, regardless of what the team says.

The rules enforced by the automated system are based off the community's decisions over the years since launch in-game as well as their votes in the previous incarnation of the Tribunal.

Yes, you're free to go anywhere you'd like and do anything you want in-game. However, you can, and will, be held accountable by the community for your actions.

If you'd like to have a conversation about the meta and how it's decided on, you can create a post in Gameplay and have that discussion.

Uh....Support IS a defined role and has been for a very long time? Supports go bot, the community has decided that. You could technically take support top, or mid, but it isn't normally done on teams of people who are strangers.

If you decide to do it and your team doesn't want you to, not doing it right or losing the game can get you in trouble, because you took a big risk and it backfired

In game they harass me about my play and say that i should have allowed them to take my role. Which check-box is this? also i have never ever seen any of the "your report resulted in a punishment" notification even though i have done my fair share of reports over 5 years, is that normal?

I don't have the options in front of me, but it falls under the concepts of negative attitude/unsportsmanlike conduct/verbal abuse if they're harassing you in-game.

As for not seeing a pop-up notification, those only started going out since the recent change to the punishment system so you playing for 5 years doesn't mean anything. I've been playing since 2010 myself but ultimately all that matters if if you've been accurately reporting people recently and if the specific game you were in with them is what triggered a punishment. In some cases, one game isn't enough to trigger the punishment but reporting them is still important to show a consistency in their behavior.

Normally a person who wants another role means that their not as good at a certain role however if they don't ask Politely that means their just a kid that has anger issues.

Random asks for Role " GIVE ME MID OR FEED" I would keep the role that they want from you and just mute them in game and try to play, chances are if they ask for a role they are either A. A kid that sucks B. Sucks in general C. Spoiled D. Can't play a certain role that they got instead of the one that they were given

If you think you can win or just need the role that you have and they want I would say this when the conversation starts if they are a Nice person.

Random " Can I mid" You should say no but say it like this " no I'm sorry" Chances are if they are a nice person they will say "ok" then and only then should you consider switching with them as they don't seem to have Rage or salt but again its your choice if you want to switch roles.

Either stand your ground or swap with them. Just be polite about it whichever way you choose, play your best, and report them after the game.

sometimes not often sometimes though there is that situation where someone demands a roll.. then your champ gets banned OR picked.. that situation is only called for a dodge

For me personally it depends. I choose to never make the final decision to doom my team.

So, if they pick before me, I'll go for damage control and pick what my team needs. If they pick after me, though, I usually say "I don't negotiate with terrorist" and pick my role. Most people don't follow through anyway, because they still want to win. If they do follow through, well... as said, I prefer not dooming my team, so I'll try my best to fill the leftover role with whatever I picked.

I would give it to him just because I don't want troll in my game and want to win. But I can play everywhere, so don't know what to do if you can't fill
