Probation period needs transparency

So I'm in probation period due to previous account suspension.

I've played on and off for a month and I have racked up 4 Friendly honors, 2 Helpful honors, 15 teamwork honors, and 1 honorable opponent honor.

And yet still I'm ineligible for loot due to previous behavioral suspension.

So how many honors do I need exactly? Do I need to give blood? Donate half my organs? Sell my soul to Riot?

Seriously I don't know what I need to do to get off probation period at this point and the game doesn't even tell you what you need to do or what it wants exactly, this is highly frustrating. If you want players to redeem their behavior, set them a goal to stride towards, like most rehabs do. Right now being stuck in probation period is like being lost in the middle of a desert with no ends in sight because you don't even know what you are supposed to do to get out of it or what you're doing wrong, it's annoying and disheartening and frankly makes probation period completely ineffective as a behavior correctional device.

As far as I know it is not based upon the number of honors you receive, but based upon a certain number of games played without receiving any further reports for behavioral infractions. Just keep playing the way you've been, and it will go away. It sounds as if you are doing everything right.

Honor should mean a lot more than reports because way more people would be much more keen to report than to honor a fellow player.

As a support if your carry dies a lot, he will blame you and after an unsatisfactory game probably report you for not cooperating with the team.

I agree that honor should carry more weight than reports, provided its balanced in a way that inversely correlates the percentage of games played with someone and the number of times they honor you. That way you don't have people getting their friends to just honor them every game to rush through the probationary period.

Out of curiosity, how many games have you been playing to get that number of honors recently? Again, I am not aware of the honors having any direct impact on the loot rewards, but I know it used to take a decent percentage of games honored to actually be able to hold the ribbons. You could even end up losing the ribbon if you started playing some of the faster game modes that don't often earn as much honor, because you end up with a lower percentage of honor per game. Though I think I'm getting off topic... my bad! Back on track. When you end up with a temporary suspension, you do have a longer wait before you can earn loot than you do with the chat restrictions. So it may take you 1-2 months. Try to be patient. I know it's very frustrating, especially when the other players are clearly showing that you are a positive player to be around.

One last thing, and people may have mentioned this to you before. Since you have had a temporary suspension, be careful about snapping in chat. With the 4 strike system, any subsequent infraction can result in a permanent suspension. It takes longer than you might think for the punishment tier to drop back down from this level. Once you start earning loot again, that DOES NOT mean you are out of the permaban level. I haven't actually seen a Red post about how long a person stays at that level, but I've seen people post about suddenly being permabanned for a minor toxic comment when their last punishment was 4-5 months prior. So please, for your own sake, be careful. Though it really does seem like you have been doing everything right as far as how you treat other players in game since your temp ban. Keep up the good work, and I hope you start earning loot again soon.

honors system has got nothing to do with you regaining hextech rewards or dropping punishment tiers.

Also, when you do regain hextech rewards, it doesn't mean that your punishment tier has dropped.

The reason probation period is not transparent is because of exploitation. Other reason is that you shouldn't be toxic, period, not just during the time you're on probation, and act otherwise when you get off probation.

I got suspended because I called sup in team making, two people called duo and insisted on sticking together at bot lane despite the fact I already called to play support. I refused to go solo top as a support Zilean when I already bought Ancient Coil as my first item.

Those two reported me and I got suspended.

This is another thing Riot needs to address, friends collectively reporting on a solo queue player they don't like.

Just a couple of things about how reporting system works:

  • Multiple reports in one game count as one.
  • You can't be punished for playing a certain role in blind pick so that is not the reason you got punished.
  • Unless there is severe verbal abuse, sexism, racism, homophobia or other forms of hate speech, one game cannot get you a punishment, meaning there are (many) other examples of your behavior.

If you don't post chat logs there is nothing to actually discuss. Just to repeat, you were not banned for refusing to go to a certain lane in blind pick.

I was banned because they got mad at me for going bot, which made 3 of us at bot lane. I refused to go top, a heated argument started and I told them that you can hold hands and **** each other all you want outside of the game, but you don't need to do the same inside of a game at the expense of other people just coz you have to duo queue even when I already called support role first.

I wish I can show you the chat log, but it was completely their fault and I was mad as hell because they think I was at fault for going bot when I already called it first just because they are duo queue and have the right to go bot lane together no matter what.
