LeaverBuster mechanics

Hi All,

First of all - this is not a QQ post. I am happy to have it alive. Rather this is a question of its mechanics.

Was digging the forum for clarification. I have found the FAQ http://forums.na.leagueoflegends.com/board/showthread.php?t=468889

TLDR: Is it tracking based on what? Activty/minute? Activity/game, being connected or not? Being reported as AFK? (I hope not) How long history does it check to calculate the ratio of attended/afked (from the 1st afked game? or checking last XY nr. of games?)

Background: I got a 5 minute warning and I was surprised. Not an issue, 5 hours later it is gone. Rather I am not quite sure why? I am not leaving games. I can get emotional, but not leaving. That makes no sense. I got it after a game where electricty went out. I counted, 5.24 minutes later I was logging back. Sadly the team already surrenderred in that time. I can recall one more, in an ARAM, where we were already lost, i went to pee in the last 2 mins. I did not hurry, true.

In 11 days I have over 50+ games played. Out of that 50, these two are 4%. If it takes i.e. a month history... its somewhere around 1%.

I dont feel like I am recurringly ruining others game by afking, so I did not take it personally, but started to wonder how it works. Is it a system tracking based on above? Or is it based on user reports? If so.. it is by design wrong as it can be abused so easily.

Do you know if the method is confirmed anywhere? Ah, and is it possible to trace back the games I am recorded as AFK? I have checked Match History, Eune.op.gg, ingame profile, but did not find any where it would be highlighted.

Thanks! Peace out, and dont leave games! :)

Regards

Well, I think that Riot keeps the specific numbers vague so as to prevent less scrupulous players from attempting to game the system.

That being said, if every player went AFK in 4% of his or her games, then nearly half of the games played in LoL would be ruined by a player being AFK. 4% is actually way too high, although a sample size of 50 games is way too small.

Play out your games. Remember that you are not the only one playing in them, and a going AFK has a negative impact on nine other players' game experience. That's why Riot is so harsh on leavers.

If your 5 minutes was in a ranked game, that would trigger the first leave buster punishment.
