Suggestion on ways to improve the free-to-play experience

As a player that rarely puts any money on video games I mostly play without any customizations and/or benefits gained by purchase with real currency. I do know that the developers need money too but I just feel that if a tournament style gamemode would be implemented we as free to play users will have a way to gain that one special skin we wanted for our main or any other optional skin. For example the most recent Dark Star mode was really fun and enjoyable and I really liked it, but hear me out here... A game that I started playing recently called Clash Royale has a challenge page where every week we get to take part in special events in which, if we play good enough, we could end up with a lot of valuable prizes. The same could be aplied to Lol, in the most recent mode there could be a challenge or a task which if you complete successfully you could get a dark star skin shard, or an icon or a ward. There could also exist ways we can get skin out of game (and no I'm not talking about the shitty Trist or Ali skins, but skins that could be gained by playing some other games like that one where you hook things with blitz that was released some time ago). Those are just some things I feel that could be added to LOL to improve the f2p experience. GLHF

you do get icons and please do not mention clash royal or clash of clans ever when saying you don't spend money since those 2 games have the biggest pay to win experience of any mobile app. plus league is f2p seeing how the things that change the actual game can only be gained from playing games such as runes and masteries. (hextech also exist)

When I talked about loot and custom things I didnt mean the randomness of hextech and all of its glory, but I meant to implement a quest system where need to do something for you to gain something. For Example: Quest-Win 5 games Reward-Get 100 Riot points etc... A similar system exists in Paladins aswell where you get daily quests which reward you gold(ip) but you also get monthly quests that rewards you with 50 gems (rp in our case). Also I did not say that League was a pay to win game, I merely suggested some ways to improve the whole experience for all kinds of players.
