No more AMEX RP+ program

You will no longer receive RP from purchases with the AMEX Serve card starting December 1st. But did I find out about this from Riot? Nope. American Express sent me an email about it last night. Since this is your program Riot maybe you should be the one letting everyone know about this.

Wait how is this "Riot's Program"? It's a reward plan for a CREDIT CARD, and therefor the Credit Card's program. I don't follow your reasoning.

This was a program originally announced by Riot in partnership with AMEX. Btw this is a load as you go debit card not a credit card so if you don't know what the program is why are you commenting on it? Also this program gave RP on sign up and when purchasing with the card. RP is Riot's personal currency for in game purchases. How is it not Riot's program? I'll grant at most that it's a shared program between the two but that's still no excuse for Riot not letting us know that the program is ending

but you do Know that the program is ending why does it even matter to you who told you it was ending first? for all you know you may have an email about it from riot tomorrow.

Because it's a matter of professionalism and caring about the player base that signed up for this program. If you are changing a key part f a program you offered then you should make a statement about it yourself, even if one of your partners does to. What if they signed up for the card with an email they no longer have access to? What if the email gets sent to spam or some other big happens where they don't receive the email and then dont know that a key part of the program is gone?

wait what you kept that thing? did you even do the math on it? compared to other cards on the market this had 70% less rewards than the next lowest rewards card. this was a bait. The only smart way to use it was to cash in and max the RP reward, then empty the card and cancel it.

I did keep it as I already had to go through the trouble of setting up a direct deposit and all that so I kept and used the direct deposit as my monthly RP allowance, and I would also get a little bonus RP with those purchases as well. That being said that's not the point of this thread

fine. then lets get to the point. The card is held by Amex/Serve who have a contract with League about the rewards earned being converted to RP and directly transferred into your associated LoL account. Riot is not the bank/creditor. You dont have a contract with riot when it comes to the card, you have a contract with Amex/Serve. Therefore, any changes or terminations -by law- have to be communicated to the cardholder by the financial institution who issued the card.

Contracts concerning your card: You > Creditor/Bank: yes Riot > Creditor Bank: yes You >Riot: no

Just got an email about this aswell. Would really like a Red response on why its A: stopping and B: no announcement from a red before the AMEX users got an email from AMEX themselves.
