Self mystery gifting (why not?)

Am I alone wondering why self gifting would not be allowed during the MSI pentakill/baron steal promo? I really wanna spend money here but I have to beg some friends for a trade...which I won't do Please Riot, unlock self gifting for a week so I can give you my money. OR, at least, Someone enlighten me about why NOT allow self gifting right now

If you like to purchase Mystery Skins for yourself often, it might be worthwhile (or a huge burden on your wallet) to level up a smurf just to buy RP on and gift yourself. I would but I like the Mystery too much and would buy more than I should lol.
