Why are champion sales only for RP?
I get it, riot is in the business to make money, but with the arguably insane number of games needed to unlock each champion, wouldn't it make sense if champion sales affected IP cost as well as RP?

I'm assuming it's because you could just wait for every champ to go on sale and get them all half off?
It's definitely the way it is in order to increase the motivation to buy RP. Grinding all of the necessary IP can get frustrating, so buying RP gets more and more appealing if you don't want to spend that much time on it. Took me about 3 years to finish buying every champion and all of the runes and rune pages I'll ever need.
Mainly economic reasons. If they did that riot would lose a ton of money.
