Renekton and Jackals - Subtle References

I'm a very multi-faceted nerd. One of my passions is Asian comics. Japanese, Korean, Chinese, I don't really care as long as they're good. I've read thousands of stories over the years, but one of my favorites is one called Jackals, about various groups of hired killers known as Jackals.

In it, the main character's name is Nichol D. Heyward, who's Jackal alias is "Alligator". The first time I saw Renekton, I knew he was based on this guy. The weapon carried by Nichol is identical to Renekton's rather unique weapon. With the nickname, it's pretty obvious and I really think my early obsession with Renekton was because of the reference (and the fact that I knew he was awesome before everyone else did, apparently).

Because I'm interested, does anyone know of any other subtle references in LoL? Before you say Wukong and Goku from Dragonball, though, be aware that Goku is a reference to Sun Wukong, who's a character from an old Chinese novel called Journey to the West. So Wukong is actually a reference back to the source. But things like that are what I'm interested in.

Didn't know about this one, but both Nasus and Renekton are very obvious references to the Egyptian gods Anubis and Sobek, as well as whatever else was mixed in.

I'd love to see a new character from their homeworld in the vein of another Egyptian god. Maybe a bird support based off Ra or Horus.

.....Actually, Nasus is a reference to the god of death Anubis in Egyptian mythology. Anubis has the head of a jackal, as jackals are scavengers, feeding off the dead.
