Meta too strict...

I keep dodging LoL games, and most people like it when I do. The fact that there always has to be top-jungle-adc-mid-support always causes problems so that people want to dodge. Either I don't feel like playing support, or 2 people say "I called mid/top/adc first". I don't know what to do about it that would be fun, so I dodge and go play dota. I end up sucking at both games, which is rarely any fun. My friends all play LoL, but if this keeps happening, maybe I'll just play dota 2... Any suggestions? :P

Team Builder.

Draft is an alternative to team builder. Draft order is more important than call. Of course you need to be willing to play any role, but it will give you practice in every role and you'll get one of your preferred roles more often than not (always when an early pick, and occasionally when a late pick but the early picks have different preferences).

Of course, ONLY play Draft if you're willing to play any role. Nothing is worse than 5th pick demanding top/mid and raging when 1st/2nd pick won't give it to them.

As an aside: I always just said "prefer mid/adc" and got it about 95% of the time. I now also prefer jungle and haven't been forced to top/support in Draft yet (I had to support in a recent blinds though).

Play dota 2.

Especially in a lower MMR bracket you can pick whatever you want to lane with and be effective. This is not to say that there aren't ineffective picks, but if you're mechanically good most heroes and flexible enough to lane in various ways. Of course still suffers from 5carries picked, but that's more of an issue with bracket. Actually if ur really good 5 carries can win if the other team fails to finish the game before team comes online.
