punishment system too bias

It only looks at the toxicity and not the reasons for it. sure there are a lot of unreasonable people being toxic for no reason but there are just as much trolls in the game ruining it for others yet riot does NOTHING to them, actually the trolls can end up reporting you even if you say one thing.

Like in a game where someone was insulting me for choosing vel koz, and every little thing I didn't do I was insulted and unreasonably blamed. well I am not a saint so with this kind of unreasonable bs then I would obviously me after I said one thing already)get angry and insult back. (yes theres a mute button but it wouldnt matter if they are already going to report me after the game)

This started just because I chose vel koz in champion select and the person just didn't like the champion itself. I did well ingame too, my kill and assists were above my deaths and I had one of the least deaths on my team. I ignored him during champ select and only said that velkoz can farm safely in case I get countered in my defense for choosing vel koz but the insults still came during champ select. Then during the game every little thing this eve used it to insult and blame me like losing my turret because I died by a gank and they double teamed my tower. this eve (person who was insulting me in champ select for choosing vel) was jungling right near my turret at the time btw and not only that every chance she saw wen I wasnt in my lane she took all the farm so instead I went to gank and help bot out which were all successful and got me and bot plenty of kills then she blames me for not pushing my lane... i got angry here and said something along the lines of "you took my farm so why dont you push dumbass" Ok i said dumbass! even though i got blamed for something like that but according to riot logic saying "dumbass" means punishment no matter what even if the other side called you something similar first! So i was the one banned when the person insulted not just me but blamed bot lane too. the community is definitely trash but the company running this is just as bad if not worse.

I wouldn't say I was right because I said some things back too but is it really worth a 2 week ban? I wasn't even at fault here. "if you can't say something nice don't say anything at all" so im suppose to take all the unreasonable shit against me? great logic riot. why is only toxicity punished? sure it affects whether you win sometimes and hurts others but not as bad as real trolls which guarantees a loss! there are people out there really trying to advance up the ladder yet some1 comes and fks it over for you on purpose because they dont care whether they win or lose. even if u report intentionally feeding its not like riot watches every single game yet toxicity they just need to read a few sentences of a game which takes like..... 10 seconds? so because its easier they just do something about toxicity and let trolls roam free? This is some serious BS!

and i am not talking about just making mistakes or doing bad i do not think that is trolling because even I have days like that. since 4 v 5 is already hard on high elos but if they make it "4 v 6" it really is messed up + they can get away with it! but why is it ok to do something like purposely feed (and i mean purposely meaning they annouce it themselves then do it or afk because they were doing badly on a lane and ive seen ppl quit after like their first death!) even if it gets reported there is no punishment for it but if some1 says something "toxic" even one word they get reported and banned.

yea I am just ranting here and i know riot will never change but this is just too unfair.. so im just releasing some steam in this post. I dont believe that toxicity is the worst offense in this game and be the only thing that is majorly punished. we play games to enjoy them not build up more stress, i get that enough in real life. Im fine with losing because it would just mean I am not good enough but i am not ok with unreasonable actions from people that also go unpunished until they say something in chat (so its ok to be a silent troll :/ )

When a troll is flaming you and you feel like retorting, take into consideration the effect the argument will have on the rest of the team, and also if it would even make you feel any better. Most likely you will start bugging them as much as the troll was, and you won't only not feel better you may feel worse.

The best option is to mute them immediately the second you think they might be a problem. The earlier the better.

a simple problem with a simple solution~ Don't type in the game, unless you're saying something helpful. Even if you had a reason to be toxic that should in no way excuse your toxicity. all you're doing is spreading hate and subjecting your teammates to a bad bad time~

This is what jumps out at me the most here. It does matter if you mute them(really that you don't respond) even if they are going to report you anyway. Reports aren't just a tally against your account, they are scanned for content and verified. If you don't do anything, it doesn't matter if someone reports you.

As someone else mentioned. Its just just you reporting him and him reporting you. There are 3 other people on your team that are likely reporting you both.

Trolling will probably never be punished the way you or I want. Its too complex and the game is too big. There isn't a good way to automate that. Like if I decided to troll you by just deciding to come to your lane every so often and shove it to the tower. Theres no way you can definitively know thats trolling even if it is. Thats the kind of thing that trolling is about, subtlety.

You don't have to be a saint, you just have to recognize that there is no point in being toxic, even to trolls. That troll isn't doing it because no one yelled at him or called him an asshole. In all likely hood, you getting mad is exactly what they want. So now, not only are you not helping by raging at them, you are feeding them. Giving them a little treat for their efforts.

Ignore/mute, and report at the end of the game.

using the chat basically means getting banned at some point. there should simply be an option to turn off the chat
