I do not want it to be meta to use voice chat. I have no desire to talk to randoms whatsoever!
I'd rather sit at the DMV for hours and hours and hours than listen to some squeaker brat cry about ganks in my headset for 30 minutes. Or worse, some man-child who takes a video game personally, and self righteously denounces everything anyone does in a non-stop monologue with his 4 letter word only vocabulary.
If this comes up im going to either A) get hounded for being a girl or B) get trash talked almost every game cuz i suck xddd
there is a mute button.
Well it's a good thing that Riot has said that if it were added to the game, that it would be an optional opt-in or opt-out feature.
I will say this though, and this is based off my experience (Believe me I have a lot of it) but talking to people over the mic is a less toxic environment than text chat. Most people don't have the balls to say the things they do in chat over mic so it usually stays pretty chill.
It would be a healthy addition to the game and help with communication. I'm just hoping that Riot adds it before anyone else so they can set the bar for the other companies to follow because let's be honest, it's going to happen.
League has voice chat?
I've never wanted voice chat.
But not because I fear toxicity. Because I don't want to deal with all the problems voice chat introduces that text chat solves. There are reasons I LIKE text chat... and I don't want people to abandon it because they can talk.
