Help me find a new game?

About a year and a half ago, my friends told me about this really cool game called League of Legends. THey told me about all 110 or so champs I could pick from, and master. They told me a lot of things. About a year ago, I downloaded and played it. The exact date, I think, was September 25th, 2013. Ive been playing almost daily since then. As such, I have grown bored of LoL. Its a very good game with a lot to offer, but Ive just run this train face-first into the ground. Im looking for the (occasionally) kindhearted community for ideas as to what I should buy from steam. Im looking for something competitive, and entertaining. Not anything resembling a MoBA. Maybe a FPS like CS:GO, maybe something off the wall and random like Rust. I don't know, just toss out some ideas. My laptop can run LoL fairly well, so Im assuming I can run a decently taxing game. And ive got like 40$ in my steam wallet. SO please, if its a game you personally enjoy, Im all ears to hear.

TL:DR- Bored of League, give me suggestions for 40$ or less on good games able to be run on a laptop
