I HATE having to pad my language in order to win.
It's incredibly frustrating communicating with an average team of LoL players who have the emotional resiliency of a wet paper bag. I really really dont want to have to queue up for a babysitting role instead of being able to freely enjoy and play the game.
I'm not talking about saying stupid things like "OH WOW FEEDER U SUCK IM JUST TRYING TO GIVE U ADVICE" and other tripe but when your entire team is going GG in chat and it falls on your shoulders to be the "mom" of the match...usually the only way to win is to be OBNOXIOUSLY positive. It's so mentally exhausting to know that the only way your team will keep playing the game (which is usually just a very manageable 2v3 score at this point) is if you spend the next 10 minutes constantly regurgitating mindless platitudes and commending your team on things they should already be doing as part of their role. I'm all for a solid "GJ!" or "nice gank!" when someone does something well, but sometimes i feel like im playing with a bunch of abused children who give up immediately at the very first sign that any element in the game isnt going according to plan. I would much rather lose a match and re-queue than spend all game not having fun and win.
"Well you answered your own question, just lose the match and requeue if it bothers you." That's all well and good but I like to play ranked sometimes and morale is incredibly important in lower elos. Any of these is liable to set off a defeatist all-hope-is-lost reaction: enemy takes dragon enemy takes baron enemy gets a double or higher enemy takes tower enemy performs successful gank Now how many times do at least one of these things happen per match. Teammates (Team-mates, e.g. a player who is on the SAME SIDE as you) for some reason see this as soul-crushing and are willing to not only voluntarily throw the match, but scream and shout at everyone else and cause them to tilt as well.
Negativity is a huge problem in this game, but it's not all "mid or feed" trolling. A humongous part of this HAS to be the immature (old or otherwise) fanbase, but unfortunately that's who Riot makes the most money from. Young, dumb, weaboo males with disposable income and a crippling weakness for sideboob are a huge part of keeping this company afloat so while Riot continues pandering to a younger crowd (low-quality Helmet Bro animated series, epik memes xDD in their videos and spotlights, racy skins) there will continue to be four 12-year-olds in your promo match. $$$>everything, don't forget that riot is a company.
