Creating a "formerly known as"

I don't know if someone's already suggested this or not. Anyway...I've found that many a times, people in my friends list would get a summoner name change and I'd no longer know who that person on my list is. Can there be something when you mouse over someone on your friends list that says like "Formerly known as (insert previous name here)" so I don't get confused? I know I could just ask them, but that's such a hassle especially if I don't really talk to them.
