Apparently, Tencent and Alibaba are going to be in charge of implementing some kind of social media citizenship score for the Chinese government. Details are sketchy at this stage of the game, but considering how much information Google and Facebook have on us (as well as their willingness to collude with the government.) paying attention to how it is implemented in other countries will help us better recognize if similar measures are taken over here. RIot Games acquisition by Tencent really helped provide the financial support they needed to make League of Legends the #1 game it is today, but it seems like the arrangement is a rather Faustian bargain.
