Recently i got suspended for 14 days after i got reported for verbal abuse and in this game the riven player on the other team was being toxic like i was. i was just wondering, does retaliation penalize you like a chat restric or maybe puts you in low priority qeue and if so do both players ( the one that got reported and the other that retaliated and showed a negative attittude and got reported as well ) get equal punishments ? Or does the main guy (me in this case) get suspended and the other guy ( the riven) gets a lesser punishment? I was just wondering this becouse when i received the message with the details of my punishment said that retaliation was still reason of punishment and if it actually happened to someone be negative, not get reported but still get penalised just for being a bit toxic like the other guy.

Retaliation to extreme verbal abuse can even get you permabanned. It's a pretty cool system. Defending yourself isn't okay, kids!

Nothing anyone one else says or does changes what you are allowed to say or do. So yes, if you retaliate you can and will get punished. Even if someone else was far worse. In many of these cases both are punished, not always right away though since punishments are almost never for single incidents. So while you retaliating might have been the final straw that lead to your punishment, them instigating might not have been theirs.
