ELO Hell?

So I've been playing for a bit, ended Silver 2 last season, got placed Silver 4 this season and slowly made it to Gold 2 over the course of the season. This all seemed good was hovering slightly above a 50% win rate and steadily, albeit slowly climbing like you should in the ranked system. That was a few months ago and now i'm in Gold 5 in a perpetual state of 0~40 LP depending on my luck and been on a losing streak up to 13 once and i'm now at a 46% win rate. I'm at a point where gains are literally impossible unless I get the best luck a LoL player can get. A few days ago before I made this post I decided to stop playing ranked when I was on a 3 win streak (which is relatively large) but getting about 11-17 LP only to lose 34 the next game to an AFK on my team (I am not saying they are the reason I am where I am, i'm just stating what was there and why I lost). If it means anything I duo rarely to never probably 10 games out of the 300+ I've played. I guess it's safe to say it's pretty pointless to play when I lose 3 wins worth of the progress in one game, i'll just settle with my Gold border this season I guess but if anyone has anything to inform me about why this happens I would be very grateful.

" i'm now at a 46% win rate." You can't expect to gain more LP than losses when you're sitting below 50% winrate. I don't know about you but where I'm coming from, we don't move forward by going 4% backward. But yah I don't even climb past gold, the highest I've ever climbed was Gold 2 and got sick of ranked, from now on just climb to gold 5 and collet free skin.

The short answer is: you're more-or-less where you're supposed to be.

The longer answer is somewhat more complicated. The fact that your LP gains per win are so much lower than your LP losses per loss indicates that you're actually slightly above where your MMR indicates you should be.
