Climbing the ranked ladder kind of pointless since we have rank 7 mastery?

Why get plat or diamond when i can just get rank 7 on my favourite champions.

Most games i see in normals if a platinum or diamond player loses to a silver player that high rank player will get mocked by his own team or his opponent.

3 of my friends are in those elos and if they lose a match or lose a lane they get criticised. Only one of them gets offended by this.

I know this isn't a popular opinion but its something i want to address that ranked (to me and maybe others) is pointless now that i have these rank 7 mastery champions.

I hardly ever play ranked.

Maybe with ranks 8 to 10 riot should allow them to be only obtainable if you get S rank or S+ rank in ranked mode only.

Do you think rank 8 to 10 should only be achieved in ranked?

because the mastery system doesn't show skill, the ladder does. You could play 800 games of Fiora in bronze and get a lucky S a few times to get mastery 7 but still be a bronze Fiora player.

True, very true.

but there are some people in high ranks who are one tricks who are just as bad as bronze and silvers when it comes to other roles (not just the pay to boost guys).

Dont worry about the downvotes I was kind of expecting negative response but hopefully someone could agree.

I don't know the point of mastery were to show you just had experience playing them. It doesn't necessary mean you're any good. Someone in bronze 5 with no mechanical skills or knowledge about the game (no offense to anyone who reads) can have master 7 or 10. Meanwhile a person in masters might not have a single mastery 7.

Might be cool to have harder requirements to unlock masteries but they are just a niche appeal.

I do hope this is the case with future mastery ranks.

I've noticed one guy in platnium 3 i've bumped into a random normal game have only one champion in mastery 7 while rest are 4 or under.

Funny that the champion in rank 7 is nasus we became friends since that one game i had with him. He is helping me get better with nasus which is one of the few champions i seriously suck with along with Zed and Azir.

Im pretty bad at nasus mostly because im used to being that top laner who pushes and gets fed then ganks the enemy jungler 1v1 or mid or even bot lane for kills and objectives early. I lack paitence in farming during the early parts and i get poked easily plus my Q last hitting calculation is always off because i keep thinking i have that mid or late game damage and it can be a pain.

Sorry to go off course but yeah im honestly shit with some champions and I'm glad you and the other guy are honest about that mastery ranks dont really mean much.
