Just Played My Placement Matches, And I Have a Question

Hey, so I just finished my 10 placement matches in ranked and got Silver III. In my situation, would you try to get to Gold for the extra end-of-season rewards (and have higher chance of falling to Bronze), or play a ranked game once a week to maintain Silver III? I started playing LoL sometime in February, so I haven't ever played ranked before in a previous season. Just wanted to see people's opinions.
