Most frustrating game ever

Let me just start by saying this game is an absolute joke. Its 1 of the most unbalanced dota-like games I've ever played with unbalanced champions littering the game play everywhere. Its extremely buggy when it comes to server connection issues and its arguably fosters one of the worst gaming communities ever for a game. I can't remember a single league playing session in which I didn't meet a rager/afker/troll or any other person who fits the category of an unsportsmanlike undesirable gamer term. Now before you mark this as a useless rant, if u actually read through this you will notice i point out several issues within this game that a lot of players bear witness to and complain about often (and a possible solution). Also, the fourth paragraph actually points to computer issue/bug/glitch that i experienced at possibly the worst time possible.

Aside from the above, the level progression and ranking system is entirely flawed. First off, if someone has previously created an account there should be some virtual bin that groups this account with the creation of any new account by the same person; and possibly limit ranked accounts to one per person. The reason for this is because so-called "smurf" accounts do in fact ruin game play in lower ranked games. Its ridiculous how a player, who may already have a diamond/platinum account, can just create another account for the sole purpose of playing amongst lower ranked players for easy, fun wins or for boosting friends through this completely flawed system. In fact, in any game of mine that a player has proclaimed them self a "smurf", it has been entirely believable because their game play has been noticeably better than any other players in the match. Since a smurf implies someone who is actually wasting their time playing at a ranked skill level below their own for the fun of it, it really comes as no surprise to me that 3/4 of the smurfs i meet are obnoxious and troll-like in some fashion; they are aware of their much higher skill level and they rub it in as they completely dominate/ruin a game in which they shouldn't be present in the first place.

Now aside from all the truths above, the real reason for making this post was to comment upon the horribly made ranked system. Not only does the point system make no sense, but it is buggy and flawed beyond belief. Let me put help you understand my perspective with my story of silver progression.

To start off, I have cycled from siv 5 to siv 1 about 4-5 times and even though i wanna blame teammates, like everyone else (#worstgamingcommunity), I'll chalk it up to my own badness for the sake of my arguments validity; basically, people fail to realize that when you play a "team" game you need to understand and accept the consequence of losing EVEN if you do extraordinarily. well. Anyway, so i had recently gotten back into siv 1 before the end of season 3 and my progress in ranking had seemed "fair" to say the most; however, it was at this moment that i began to realize i was only getting 5 lp per win and 3-4 lp per loss. IDK about you, but with lp rates like this, it's literally impossible to go anywhere in silver due to the insanely different skill levels one will witness in this league. Now i assume riot did this to help close off season 3 and create less variance in last minute league promotions/demotions but after talking to many other players on their lp rates, this method wasn't being applied over the games entirety; in fact, it appeared to only influence players in div 1 and 5 or a person whose been stuck in the same division for a looooong time. How is this a "fair" ranking system at all? My first great example of this stupidity was seen when i was duoing with my friend who needed 1 more win to promo to gold 5 while i was still at the bottom of siv 1. We played approximately 6 games together and 5 of the 6 resulted in wins. By the end of our session, he not only promo'ed to gold 5 but got into the promo for gold 4. I, on the other hand, had only barely scratched the 40 lp threshold in siv 1. Essentially, he was getting 24 lp wins while i was continually getting 5 (i even got 4 a few times); how is this fair at all? Regardless, i finally gave up trying to make gold 5 by the end of the season 3 and decided to wait till the new season cause i knew lp rates would become more "realistic" again (its sad how one can just merely wait long enough for the "value" of wins to go back up).

This brings me to the climax of the story. At the start of the new season, it takes me just three wins (21 lp each) to reach the series (as opposed to my 15-20 wins in last season and only just breaking 75 lp). However, i end up losing this series in my very last game due to an afk; regardless i press on cause i have wasted so much time trying to get gold. After 2 more unsuccessful series i finally get back in for a third attempt. It goes as follows: lose, win, lose, win, win. Your probably thinking, why are you complaining, u finally made it to gold 5. WRONG! After the victory image comes up, my client crashes (surprise surprise riot) and i restart the client. After re launching the client I press my personal profile/league button and a reassuring platform error message gets displayed. I then look at my league and lo and behold, I'm still in siv 1. IN FACT, the 3-2 win i just got merely RESTARTED my series over agian. Just when i thought this game couldn't get more ridiculous, it proves me wrong. Not only that but it does it at a moment when i finally thought i had beaten the system; It's almost too good to be true that this would happen, given the mentality i had going into this 3rd series. So yea, just wow at the hours i have wasted playing this horribly flawed game.

end rant

You are gaining more LP because your MMR score has gradually increased by winning more games. The higher your MMR the more LP you gain for wins in lower leagues. The goal of the system is to move you into a league that best reflect your skill level, but it also has safe guards in place to make losing or winning streaks less destructive to your league placement. Since you cannot go any lower than Silver 5 due to the new system, a previous losing streak may have decimated your MMR while still leaving you in Silver 5. You then see only small decreases and increases in LP until your MMR comes back up in line with a Silver 5 placement.

Then as you approach 100 LP in Silver 1, the system will give you less points to nullify streaky play and make sure that your MMR is good enough to enter the next skill bracket (Gold). Your story in my opinion is a positive one. It means that the system does a good job at placing people in respect to their current skill level, and it say that your have improved and your perseverance is paying off. Good luck in your advancement matches.

This is a free-to-play game fyi ^_^ so its expected to experience such problems like this otherwise there wouldn't be smurfers because you'd have to pay for your own ID code in the game box in which was sold back in S1 when the game started out but then became Free-to-play this problem will without a doubt be almost impossible to fix and if your really determined on getting the rages and trolls out do what you can at the tribunal it does at least save quite a lot of player's games. Good Luck friend, I'm stuck in Silver V and with 35 LP yeah progressing is difficult with this problem.

I know what you mean about smurfs, but there is no way to fix this problem. You suggested linking to the original account, but they would see through this and lie saying yea this is my first account.
