Will I Ever be Good

I have borderline 1000 hours in league, highest rank ive gotten is s2 98lp

I dont really play league for fun anymore, only for ranks and being better than my friends

The only thing that drives me to play this game is the urge to get a higher rank ie: gold or plat

Im have so much time played and currently im hardstuck low silver, took me all that time to barely improve and now i feel like ive stopped improving or even gotten worse. I recently stopped playing upon giving up on the game and my hopes of mid teir elo.

My question is, if its taken me this long to be silver, will i ever be good? Are people who are naturally good at the game or just inclined to be a good player in high elo by 1000 hours? I feel like I just need to face the reality that im bad

I think a lot of it is natural ability of mechanics and personal ability of game knowledge and decision making to learn. If you are tapped out on both then the only way you'll improve is by getting a coach, but if you are maxed out on your natural ability then being taught will only go so far. You might hit mid gold if you learn the game more. To get to a decently high rank you need to have a lot of natural ability in mechanics. I play all types of games online and I can consistently get into the top 1% because of natural ability carrying me until my personal ability catches up.

#1 - Game knowledge.

#2 - Mute people / dont argue i cannot tell you how many games i have been on the winning side with a crappy KDA. in the same note when i have a bad game there is always one person trying to explain to me how my runes and masteries arnt optimal or some other point of how i didnt play how they wanted me to so it is all my fault my team lost. honestly hear that stuff at end game because i have muted them early on in the game.

#3 Know the sad truth Sometimes you just have to stop chasing. Sometimes that guy who runs in there needs to die solo. Sometimes you just need to walk away.

#4 Take everything The game is about burst right now. use every ability and take every kill. If you dont go hard, why play rank.

#5 wave management give your 6th team member a chance

If your natural ability isn't holding you back and it is just your personal ability ( game knowledge / decision making ) then you COULD potentially learn by watching your own replays and analyzing your own game play and improve but this process would be a lot faster if you had a coach.

In CS GO you really don't require a lot of game knowledge since that game is more about natural ability. I got up to LEM without really knowing the maps all too well or how to utilize save rounds / money to the fullest. I wasn't even using grenades much. In CS Go it is like 80% natural and 20% personal.

In League it is more like 60% natural and 40% personal. I think if someone is pretty damn perfect mechanically but absolute shit in knowledge they will get to around mid Gold. If you have the same ability but a bit of game knowledge it wouldn't be hard to hit Plat. Its when you fine tune both that you start to get to the higher elos, and the good part about this, especially for League, once you get to that level it is incredibly easy to keep doing it every season after. I hit Diamond in S5 (S4 if you count 3s) and have had no problem getting it every season since.

If you have to ask yourself that, probably not.
