Am I the only one missing the old events?

So with the new event introduced from Riot, we got yet another Hextech crafting related event. Another pay to start, rng based event. Let's see it that way : 5 Envelopes are 1250 RP right? which should be around 10 $. So you'll get 5 random skin shards and 5 random relics. If your lucky you get 3 pauldron relics, you get an epic skin shard . If you're not lucky you get 5 randoms and can reroll 3 into a chest & key.

Now let's look at it the smart way. You can just buy a x-1350 RP skin that you like and want, instead of praying to RNG and hoping for a skin shard you might as well can't even craft.

C'mon Riot... I know you wanted to change your Events, but honestly I miss the old events where you had actually to achieve something to unlock at least an icon instead of paying now and to get RNG elements...

P.S. : In no way I want to shame the Hextech crafting system, it's an awesome addition into the game for free player who can't spend money on the game like me, don't get me wrong there ._.
