Streamer swatting

Over the weekend, satirical news site National Report recently published an article on a 15-year old being given 25 years to life for "swatting" a streamer. The article went viral, despite being fake:

This probably came about because of recent swatting of The Creatures' Kootra, who was swatted mid-livestream:

Some of you might remember PhantomL0rd's "chill day" last year, where hacker group DERP shadowed his stream, which led to police being called to his house because of a "hostage situation" by one of the viewers. The timeline and aftermath of the event here:

What do you guys think of this new trend? Although the article was fake, especially in light of Kootra's swatting that caused several schools to be evacuated for the false bomb threat, this action holds some very serious consequences, and is beyond just a prank. Those are some pretty big scary guns; could you imagine?!
