Server Problems

Riot,

I must say I am extremely disappointed in you guys. For starters, your server stability has been sub par in my opinion. Most recently, it is the problem of D/C's occurring with the error that a firewall is stopping people from entering a game after champion select. No matter what is done, the problem still remains, meaning anyone who runs into that will not be able to play in that game. That also harms the people who have been in the game. I lost my series due to this problem and to make matters worse, I got a loss prevented when someone left in game, yet I get no loss prevented when I get into a game where two of my team mates D/C before the start. I assume its the problem I just mentioned. Yet, there is no disabling of ranked as this problem persists. If it was happening sporadically, I understand the reason to not worry about it, but it happened two games in a for me. One were I was the team without two team mates and the second where I was unable to connect, even after changing WiFi connections, restarting League and restarting my computer. While this is a technical issue at the moment, it points to a broader theme.

That theme would be a downgrade in the overall server stability. Since I have started playing, the problems have only increased, not decreased. I know you guys recently switched servers, but I thought that would solve problems, not create more. It feels like there is always something now with your servers. And frankly, I just don't understand. Other online games I play don't have nearly the same amount of problems and I know finances are not an issue. You guys definitely make a lot of money because you make money on code, not a physical item. While it isn't at the same level as the oil companies, I would assume you make a decent amount, enough to ensure stability of servers. Personally, I would rather better servers rather new skins or champions every two week (an exaggeration, I know). I for one love to play league, but when I run into trivial errors, like server issues, it gets rather frustrating. Granted, there will always be problems, but in my opinion there shouldn't be at least one problem a week.

I understand it seems a little harsh and selfish to sit here and complain about the job you are doing on the servers, but the servers are the most important part of the game (without them, no League!). That aside, there are many aspects I do enjoy about the work you guys do and the product you provide, but when your most important aspect and foundation is shaky, it creates more problems and leaves the customer not as happy as they can be. I used to love to hop on League and try to climb the ranks, even if its Solo Q and its always a wild ride, but now its more of a love hate relationship, rather than enjoyment. I play the game because I enjoy it, but its slowly starting to get to the point where I might step back and not invest as much time into League. It's no longer worth the frustrations of something going wrong. You guys have come a long ways since season 1, but in my eyes, you still have a long ways to go if want to stay relevant in this always shifting landscape.

I haven't ran into this issue myself, but instead, it's a separate server issue. I'm only assuming it's on riot's end because literally everything else seems to be working fine. But I've only been able to play ARAM and Poro because I would really hate to feed in the case that I've been getting ping spikes far above 200-500+ that last for about 1 or 2 seconds. It reoccurs literally every 10-30 seconds or whenever abilities start flying. So any time someone engages on me or my team goes to engage, I start to lag for a solid 1-2 seconds so I miss any opportunity to do anything (for example Yasuo into Malph ult; I missed my chance to ult because of this issue). Normally I'd think it was on my end, but like I said, my connection to other games seem to be working just fine and I've heard this is an issue with some other people as well.

I'm been having the same problems all day today. I couldn't even join a game, even after restarting League more than five times. gg my match history.

Hey Riot want to get your shit together instead of consistently sucking of consumers on skins and icons, update after update. Keep your servers stable...is it that fuckin hard or do you guys just not give a fuck because people are buying skins?

well said my friend. It's not so much that people don't enjoy the game itself but the tradeoff for paying 60 dollars for a game seems pretty enticing when the game many people have spent 100+ dollars on isn't even online half the time...

No offense, but tl;dr. Though I got the gist through a skim of the first paragraph. I'm sure by the amount of posts about the firewall bug on here, everyone understands. You should probably just contact support.

I can't even play ARAM anymore, because my ping spikes (even when all of my settings are down low and I'm the only one using my internet. I'm in the same room as my router so I don't understand the problem.) are going literally over 9000. I get a solid 5 seconds of lag, and by that time I'm dead if any champ comes remotely close to me. I'd really love to not feed in normals in Rift, but sometimes I can't help it bc of this stupid server business. I hope that they can get it fixed soon, jesus. item 3070 item 3070 item 3070 item 3070
