Don;t Guard base... You get flagged by leave buster...

So now i'm getting leave buster cause I spend to much time around my base? My team says stay and defend base while they push so i'm at base protecting nexus from backdooring. All of a sudden they rush in and kill me and take nexus and I get a pop up asking me if I agree not to leave anymore games? Not once did I afk..

Edit: this is funny... I just added the guy who dced in our game ezreal... he never got flagged. Care to explain why I did and he didn't?

Edit: Apparently what happens is leave buster flags you by experience not gained in a certain amount of time? So I guess that's how I was flagged?

I don't see how that is grounds for afking or leaving a game, it just means I stayed at base and guarded nexus from a backdoor while my team pushed lanes.

Also how is this fair for someone in a custom or bot game looking over items and what they do?

Because the "leaverbuster" system is terrible, both in principle and execution.

5 years LoL is still legendary for its toxic community, 5 years they've done nothing but try to doll out punishments, not offering anything to the people who grit their teeth and waste 15 more minutes in a game corrupted by trolls and ragers, the ones who dont join in on the arguing and just try to deal.

A while back Riot made what appeared to be an effort to reward positive players through the honor system, but people quickly found out it amounted to nothing.

There's no benifit to staying in a game that is lost, only some abstract threat of punishment. It doesnt work, never has.

oh look an example of why riot ignores most of their community. People who post toxic rage-filled crap to try and make riot look bad. If you want a response send a support ticket, i've never gotten leavebuster for defending base nor have i ever received a warning about afks, none of my friends have either. I guess what i'm trying to say is i have no proof you're even having a problem, and you whining on the forums only makes our already bad light community look even worse. (and yes i am acting toxic towards you, i'm sorry)

edit: oh i also forgot, i disconnect in a lot of games because of my crappy internet, all i do is rejoin the game and keep playing no punishment.

I wish they would discontinue Leaverbuster. I'm not a toxic player, nor do I AFK or leave, but it is just really aggravating how they are increasing the punishment levels without fixing the way it decides who to punish (I have also had warnings in games I never left, both before and after the recent changes). It is just nerve-wracking to have the Server lag and have to reload the game and afterwards get a dreaded "Why did you leave (when our server crashed)?" message.

You'll get this as well if you did it in a custom game. 1 human player and 2 bots. Let the bots play around while you check the items, look around the map, etc.

I was shocked but I hardly care because Rito doesn't. It's pointless to show what is wrong when the wrong is almighty.

Yeah that sounds really frustrating :(

I do have a real problem with people being toxic and leaving as a result, but honestly (getting off topic here) when a player has legitimate technical issues, I don't think they deserve any repercussions. If this is something that happens daily, or even 2-3 times a week, perhaps that is valid, but I have had lots of teammates DC and I have convinced the remaining teammates not to report the missing member. It is awful enough to have your system go down during a game, when you just want to play, there really is no need to come down on people over leaving for that reason. I realize that differentiating these technical problems from actual troll AFKers is no easy task, but seriously, I am not content with Leaver Buster in its current state.

Holy sorry for the rant. Leaver Buster makes me sad.

But I agree with OP, that sounds really awful. :(

Played 2 games where I was clearing waves on nexus tower, went to clear, back to fountain and clear again, never got any message related to leavebuster so this is obviously YMMV

should see my buddy with a bad connection one weekend. DCs ingame. has to LEAVE game cuz "attempting to reconnect" was taking 5mins to do whatever it's trying to reconnect to. while he's just surfing the net just fine.

a few reconnects later and.. "leaverbuster has banned your account"

we all lol'd. like wtf was leaverbuster ?! he came back. but still 'left' the game in a sense. only cuz there was no other choice but to 'leave' the game so he can reconnect reliably back into the game.

TL;DR remove leaverbuster please. and just stick to your tribunal. and chat filters that only extends the duration of your chat no matter what you do.

You probably left or were reported from a previous game and their system needed a bit of processing time to issue the warning. Since you were in an active game, I assume it would wait til it concludes before informing you (although it would misleadingly appear to be related to that current game).

In regards to the other guy not getting flagged, he probably doesn't leave much so he has some leeway with the system (thus not issuing warning cause it sees it as OK to leave once in a while). In terms of why it dinged you, you would know best if you had it coming.

I think you guys are missing the point. Everyone is saying oh you only get flagged by leave buster not gaining any experience for a certain amount of time so my post must be Bs and no one sees the problem with that? Rather I gain experience or not I'm not afk.. If all the turrets and inhibs are down and my team says "Guard nexus and watch for shaco to try to back door, we are going to push lanes" and Im sitting in base waiting for shaco i am not gaining any experience since I am not in range of minions being killed in the process of lanes being pushed.. So why am I getting leave buster when I'm not afk and protecting base? I think alot of you trolls ignored that minor detail.

Lyte said the system was to punish people who get mad and leave game or just rage afk.. So why are people that are doing neither getting flagged? Via- Client issues, emergencies, power outages and simple things beyond control, let alone following teams order to guard base while they push.

I don't know why i got flagged that game other then that is the only possible way, I just know i was playing that game every second of that game and I get a message popout making me agree not to leave any other games. I think it needs to be clearly stated what can trigger leave buster and why if leave buster is dedicated to ragers then why are people with no control are being flagged?

Leaverbuster should be how long you haven't moved your character not experience dafuq well now I know that I can afk at tower and be safe from leaverbuster! Thanks!

Obviously the popup had nothing to do with that game. How could it know you were "afk" if you were farming minions in the base. It can't. It must have been a delayed popup from a previous game. Did you get d/c from any games previously?
