Hello, hello!

I can confirm that this falls under acceptable fan uses of the League of Legends IP. Although, we do advise that, if you're under 18, you ask your parent/guardian. ;)

It'd be really rad to see what you get done!

This begs a question.

overall, there is kind of copyright infrangement with tatoos?

theoretically using some one else's copyright image to make yourself money is illegal

its why flappy bird got sue'd and removed (just as a example)

however most cases tattoos do not matter to companies as yes some one is making money off their products they do however also get free advertisement and generally value the advertisement more

Uhh, I think you need to do some fact-checking there. There was a rumor that Flappy Bird was removed due to its content looking too much like some Mario content, but that was publicly denied by Nintendo and also lawyers for the creator.

Just thought you should know. ;)

welp. rest of the point stands

Oh absolutely. I don't debate any of that. Lots of people don't understand how copyrights or trademarks work. It amazes me how many people think you can't use anything that's copyrighted at all.

do you have a good example them?

You can use anything copyrighted as long as it doesn't reduce the holder's revenue (pirating is a good example here) or make the user any kind of money. This is software for engineering, farming, architecture, programming, etc. costs so much. The development cost isn't actually worth as much as they charge, but if it isn't for personal use it and makes someone else money they want in on that profit. An example is solidworks engineering cad which I used in school. The student version is about $70 while the professional version is which is nearly identical is almost $1,000. They only difference between them is that you have the right to make revenue from using the product with the professional version.

good point raised. but I mean a example of some one getting in trouble over using some one elses images as my example was not a valid one

Not entirely true, for instance fan games, it doesn't matter if it's going to be for free and uses all original assets, if it's say... final fantasy's liscensed characters on screen, you can still get your ass sued so hard you'll be owing money after you reincarnate, and the reason you don't hear about it is because 9/10 they have a clause that says if you talk about it you have to pay double :D

The best one that I can think of off the top of my head is when Napster got sued. I can't remember which record label originally filed the suit, but several companies joined in on the suit and Napster was ordered to pay like $25 million. For those that don't remember, Napster was a P2P file sharing site that users could basically share whatever songs and albums. Since they made no effort to limit or prohibit the copyrighted material and benefited financially from it, they were ordered to pay.

I suppose it'd depend on the company? I'm not sure how other companies handle their IPs.
