Is all/chat good for league and what's its actual purpose?
I like league alot. I think the game design is fun, the champions are creative and exciting, and that it deserves the success its gotten. Riot talks alot about toxicity and creating a positive play environment and do many things, such as bans and the report system, to try and handle that. They even purposefully don't have voice chat natively for the league client but they do have all chat, which isn't all that different. Why would one team need to be able to talk to another team at any time?
I suppose you could say its for informing the other team about trolls on your team and hoping they have mercy on you but that's not really what its used for. It's used for flaming, venting at the other team, straight trolling, and occasionally conversing. I just don't understand why it exists when it has no practical purpose and is often times a negative aspect of the game.
Of course I'm not saying this would stop the raging after the game is over or the bad stuff being said to team mates but riot seems so intent on things like chat bans and curbing negative wording that it's weird that nobody addressed what allows some of the negativity in the first place. Of course more than likely I'm missing something obvious but I did alot of searching for why all chat is a thing or if riot talked about it and didn't find anything. Thanks for reading and sorry about the run ons and grammar, just a spur of the moment kind of post.
