Add an option to "Favorite" champions on selection screen

I did a cursory search for the forums and didn't see anything on this topic specifically, I apologize if this has been discussed elsewhere.

With so many champions available in LoL now, and selection becoming unwieldy, why is there no ability to mark champions as "favorite" and then sort them to the top of the selection screen?

I understand that you can search the selection to filter champions, but this is still rather unwieldy and really feels like a half-measure to me.

If my favorite champions were sorted to the top row of selection, I have a very easy, glanceable view of which of my champions are available to me at any time, especially after certain champs have been drafted, banned, or the role has been selected out.

I've attached a quick mockup I did to further illustrate the idea.

Found the most recent one of this type of post I remembered that got quite a bit of attention:

It even got a couple of Red comments! That being said, it's a good thing to keep posting about this, seeing as it is such a needed feature.

Edit: custom tabs offer more than just a favorites list and would probably be better in the long run, especially for those that enjoy many champions and many roles.

It'd be cool if you could sort your favorites by role too (like be able to assign them to a role you play them in)

I would love to have my favorite picks and bans available as favorites... I know you can Search, but favorites would be nice.

That, or make a custom tag system. Basically making it possible to tag certain keywords to champions that you can then type in the search bar. It always bothers me that typing "support" in the search tab really doesn't give me everything that could be played support. Especially with the rise of mages going in the bot lane, and hell, even Blitz and Leona do not count as supports (or at least, aren't tagged as so).

Letting the player add his own tags to champions would pretty much solve the problem, and said player could also tag his favorite champions as "favorite" to pick one of his favorite champs in champ select. Though a simple favorite toggle on champs might be easier to implement. Either way, both of those ideas would be pretty cool to see come true

I like this idea, and would love an option to place favorite champions "per role" to random for that role.

I would actually like to see "you haven't played X champ in a while" to suggest champions for those of us who like to mix it up.

Rather than favorite, I would like to see an automated "frequently played." I've been thinking that would be rather useful while loading up team builder to practice SR.
