Never In My 30 Years As A Gamer

I have played videogames for nearly all of my 30 years of life -- and have been playing online games since I was 12. Many RTS games, MMOs, FPS -- you name it. And in that entire time, I have never been banned or punished once. Not until this game.

I have been given an account ban, and it is not the fact alone that I was banned that gets me (although, that, too, is a bummer), but it is WHY Riot banned me. Long story short: I was banned for 1) telling my teammates I was going to report them for bullying me, and 2) for asking for some sympathy from the enemy team in all chat. Where I come from, that is just called being honest, or asking for justice -- not threatening, not complaining. I was letting my team know the reason I would be reporting them. That is known as full disclosure in my book.

See for yourself their reasoning below. This is why Riot will be losing me as a paying customer. I can spend my time playing games for companies with a better judgement of morality. And again, with this being the only game for this to happen in after 30 years, I don't think the issue is me.

Edit: I was the solo player along with a 4-person premade as the rest of my team. I was kicked and banned from the lobby before being able to actually report the people who harassed me to begin with!

"Not only did you threaten to report them for not talking in a rather abusive way, you then took to all chat telling the enemy team what they were saying and complaining about them in an attempt to get more reports against them. This is considered to be abusive and harassing behavior and justifies any punishment issued to your account. While you claim they were trying to bully you after the 26th minuet of your game keep in mind that when it comes to your suspension it only matters what you do, not what others do. While you may feel that you are in the right defending yourself or others, two wrongs never make a right. If you run into players displaying negative or toxic behavior in game you can mute them and report them at the end of the game. The moment you fire back with your own negative behavior you warrant any reports made against you and justify any disciplinary actions take against your account. By muting them and reporting them at the end of the game, you ensure that only they will receive reports and face disciplinary action against their account.
