Ranking Tips?

Hey everyone! Recently I've been thinking about being ranked. I'm not level 30 yet but am getting close, thus starts the thoughts of ranked. I usually tend to play games with my friends who are considerably much better at League than I am. Though I think I am a decent player, I don't think that I am good enough to achieve my goal of mid to low silver. I really want to be in this rank because I don't want to be a "Bronze Noob" and I don't want to be in a rank with the best players in the game. Then again, I could just be beating myself up over it and could be Silver material. But if I'm not and I get Bronze, it will probably make me think even worse of my ability to play the game. I really need some tips, just so I can get to my goal of mid to low Silver at the very least. Please help!!!
