Let's stop complaining

Warning long read...

I see now that every post is something about fiora's splash, how horrid the new hud, or some other mistake that riot made. Please, let's please stop with the posts. I'm pretty sure 10 posts about fiora's splash is more than enough and I'm sure 10 posts about how the hud sucks is enough.

Riot is a huge company that although isn't the most transparent of companies still provides a high quality game that everyone enjoys. I'm reading posts like "the new hud makes me not want to play league anymore" or "riot sucks major crap because of x." Quite frankly, they have a certain attitude and vision for every update that comes around. It's true that the community brings about feedback about what they do and do not like. However, it's also very important that riot releases what they envisioned as well no?

For example, fiora ISN'T SUPPOSED TO BE SEXY. Yet there are so many complaints about how ugly she is because of the sharp angles of her face. Yeah, she's ugly but do I feel like it captures more of her personality? Hell yeah. She looks more arrogant, more cocky and more egotistical than before. Even her new in game model captures it. The extremely bright colors and stupidly large shoulder pad thing shows her extreme overconfidence in her own ability.

The same thing happened when katarina got her splash updated and everyone went nuts. I was also one of the many that complained and was like "wth is riot doing" but my girlfriend (who also plays league) said that she was glad that riot made her splash like that. She said that in this splash she looks deadlier, she seems faster, etc. She went as far as to say that she was glad riot wasn't listening to the community on this particular issue because most of the community were probably young men that had porn files of Kat and are just pissed because they can't masterbate to her anymore.

I'm not saying that the community is always wrong and riot is always right (or vice versa). What I am saying is that sometimes the community needs to learn how accept change and accept the vision riot laid out about certain things. Yes, many of the times these changes will be extremely unpleasant but if riot believed that it would make the game better then I'm willing to crack a shot at it.

Let's have some more appreciation and gratitude for riot. And for those that say, "they lost my trust a long time ago." Please just because they happened to not listen to their community about a particular subject doesn't justify not trusting them. This is Riot's game and when they have a certain idea they want to push then they certainly should. The community, out of respect and hopefully general love for the game should give constructive criticism but also know what it means to sometimes take the backseat and just follow.

Tldr: Appreciate what you have. Let's stop complaining (or at least minimize it), give riot credit where it is due and respect/follow the vision riot set for League of Legends.

I was angry about the fiora update, but Im not gonna lie, riot is better at champions updates than new champions. So far the Soraka, Sion, and GP updates have been amazing. I own all three and love the new kits more. The seem to know how to balance champion updates than new champion kits.

No, I will not go quietly into the howling dark blindly following some idiots' vision to rearrange the HUD. People enjoy this game. They are passionate about it. When you make a terrible change, people get upset about it, because now they can't enjoy the game they love. This new "vision" through the HUD is a poor example from Riot, and it should be reverted as soon as possible.

First off, it's in Riot's best interest that we complain. (Well thought out) Complaints and arguments are generally a reflection of what we as a playerbase want. Being a business, they obviously want to maximize their profit and thus, retaining and expanding their playerbase is key -- which is done by providing a product that the playerbase enjoys. Naturally, complaints, arguments and suggestions are what give life to said product and are essential to the game.

Edit: Granted I do wish people would stop the ad hominem towards Rioters when something upsets them -- it accomplishes nothing.

No. Why? Because Riot could then use the excuse that it's a minority that dislikes something.
