i just want to get better at this game. i want to play with people who respect it for the RTS that it is. but some of these people in bronze, AT BEST, play like this is mortal kombat. 80% of the time i have someone on my team who truly doesn't care and thinks its funny to ruin the game for the rest of us. so im wondering. do you guys actually do anything when we report? how are there so many of these people? i dont care about my rank. i'd love to climb, but only because i feel like i would be playing with better folks and developing a better sense of strat/tactics and teamwork. i feel like i have to make this happen on my own with friends and stop playing ranked all together. is that the answer? i feel like there may be too many of them for anyone to do anything about it and its sad. half the time the other team laughs and doesn't report. cant take it anymore, but i love the game so.

It only takes 1 report for it to matter. A lot of players do get banned, but there's just so many players and more players become level 30 every day. I don't like getting someone who is toxic, but I just report them and am fine knowing that they will eventually get banned for the way they act. While that doesn't help my game at all, it's ok but I'm helping make League better, 1 toxic player at a time.

As far as winning and climbing go, the logic is that if you're not toxic, then your team has a possible 4 toxic players while the enemy team has a possible 5 toxic players. Statistically speaking, if you play your best, stay relaxed, and stay positive, then statistically you will eventually gain MMR because the enemy team should have toxic players more often than your team does.

Solo Queue is not the best way to get a rank that truly reflects your skill. You should probably make a 5's team, because you can choose who you play with. Doesn't matter what video game you're playing, if the matchmaking is random and anonymous, you're going to be paired with people different than you.

Reports do work; it just takes time. There are so many people though, that there is no end to the supply of trolls. Even if every single person you've ever reported gets permabanned, you won't notice. You may not have even once played with the same person twice during your entire time playing.

so you want to control how other people play a video game...

can you not see there is something wrong with that? if other people would rather mess around and not give 100% effort to win then that is their right. its just a video game. when you sit down at your computer to play, its not time for serious business. its time for fun. sorry if your video game ranking is not at the top of everyones priorities. the purpose of a video game is to have fun. and each person is welcome to do that in their own way. it doesnt matter whether or not you like it. they are doing it their way.

mind your business and find a way to have fun or gtfo.
