Permanently banned for using announcer pack

So my account recently got permanently banned for using announcer packs and I am completely confused, the announcer pack I was using was on front page on Reddit and a lot of streamers use them, I was also not aware that it is against LoL's terms and conditions since I'm sure it is only illegal if you're somehow getting an advantage (hacking and scripts etc) over other players. I really think that is too harsh considering I did not even receive a warning or anything. (https://www.reddit.com/r/leagueoflegends/comments/3x1o7o/dj_khaled_announcer_pack/) link to the announcer pack I used, it's also on the official league of legends website posted by a riot employee located on the last posts on the right side (http://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/miscellaneous/dvi6L369-meanwhile-in-top-lanei-weekly-roundup-dec-18)

You should have only used the one that replaces every sound effect with Phreak saying Tons of Damage. That's the unofficial official soundpack mod.

league has no right since its not breaking any rules of modding for client side if they do this they are breaking their own rules and they can get sued for this i work for blizzard and we have mods currently used for starcraft2 created by carbot a youtube animator. blizzard doesnt get income from this since we welcome all community content made by players to extend the fun of the game. the only exception i see that league would take action for is skin related mods that allow you to get free skins. since this is client side only you hear and see this content. so i will shorten this a bit in stupid terms for riot to know :I "if they don't get income from content they will ban you no matter if it is being client side " so currently there isn't any rules for modding it but i wouldn't recommend it unless you had riot permission.

Should not have been banned especially since it been posted on riot official page. To make something also clear Announcer packs SHOULD NOT ban offense or even a warning it gives no advantage what so ever to have one. Matter o fact if riot wanna make some extra money they should make in game announcer packs to sell.

Does not matter if it is on reddit or anywhere else, unless riot releases an update to there terms and conditions well it is what it is READ THE FINE PRINT. That is all that matters so say the Rito lawyers.

I dont believe you should've gotten banned instantly for this, what, is have Dj khaled or Morgan Freeman announcing your game give you such an advantage that you'll always win, it was funny AMD harmless and if anything they should at least notify you asking to change it back

how do you know you get banned for using this? i dont think so that was a real reason.

Anomander1/12/2016, 4:27:02 PM1 votes

It mods the game files and this could have a unforeseen affect on gameplay. This is why 3rd party apps are not allowed.

Does this affect Wooxy?

While I agree it shouldnt be a banable offence, the terms of use clearly state that don't use third party apps. They put in barin and dragon timers because so many players were using Curse Voice. It is also the reason I stopped using Bot Of Legends Studio. I only used it for checking out skins and only I could see but never the less, not worth the risk any more.

Interesting how no rioter has spoken about this subject here. Shame.

All third party programs are with a "use at your own risk" condition.
