Im silver one, and I gain usually around 18 lp for both wins and losses. My brother, who is gold 5 gains around 25 for a win and loses about 18 for the same match. How is this fair? If i'm lower in ranked shouldn't I gain more when we duo Q??? I don't get it.
MMR and rank are not the same thing. I'm not expert, but it's clear to me that even at lower rank, you must be higher MMR.
If you keep playing together your MMR and ranks will even out and you'll eventually be in the same spot. What CyanoPirate said is accurate, and you can read more about MMR here on the Ranked FAQ page. Pay special attention to the parts talking about MMR.
Ah I see, so the only explanation is that I'm way better than my brother. I'll take the less LP.
