Does any one else think that Riot should realize the whole leavebuster punishment makes people not want to play their game? Unless one is playing ranked, and maybe even then, there should be no time based punishment for leaving. Or any punishment at all. Real life is more important than a game. Especially LoL where its a good chance you're going to lose many of your games unless you're going in premade. Losing in LoL unranked does not bring about the usual level of frustration most of us are accustomed to. If someone has to leave, they have to leave. They shouldn't be punished for it. Your car is on fire outside, your house burns down, your grandma gets raped, etc... The last thing you want is to come back after a horrible experience like that and have to be handed the shaft for tending to more important matters. Point is, the whiners whine when someone leaves. They can just start up another game. Theres no logical reason for punishing people who back out of a game for any personal reason as you cannot prove they left for anything other than one of the mentioned reasons.

If LeaverBuster didn't exist, some troll could leave immediately and then the entire game would be a 4v5 with no punishment. The players who want to have fun are punished due to people leaving for whatever reason. I've been playing for 4-5 months now, and I've left a whole 1 game. If you really need to leave a game, it won't be on your permanent record.

You don't get punished for occasional problems. Yes real life is more important than league, but everyone has there own stuff to deal with. People log on to league to play and enjoy themselves and they can't do that if you leave the game.

If there were not punishments for afks there would constantly be leavers. It would be hard to get an actual game. Every time you see someone yell at someone for being bad, that person would just leave. game over. Guy lost his lane? leave. game over. etc etc. Ya you can queue up again, assuming you actually have time to do this, but that game would still have astronomical chances of having a leaver as well.

If you have enough things that make you leave to cause you to get a leaverbuster punishment you need to start rethinking when you actually have time to play.

I've left for every normal emergency that has come up and never been punished.

If you are leaving enough to get punished, you deserve the penalty.

But that isn't even the point. The point is that you started a game with 9 other human beings who's time YOU just wasted by afking. The other 9 people have lives and things to do as well and you just possibly ruined their time to relax and play a game of league. Why don't you stop being a selfish little prick and going afk all the time? Hows that sound? In my opinion, if you go afk enough to get punished, you should be punished with the amount of time you were gone from the games you afked from x 9 for every player that had to sit through it. I would even really enjoy ip losses for afking, and even taking away owned champs.

you actually get punished every single time you leave. my personal experience with it is for non emergencies such as a prick on your team banning your selected champ despite them seeing you want to play it. That person doesn't deserve to have you playing with them and no one else on your team deserves to have to play with such a person. Other very common and non emergencies are when your friend pops on just as you're in champ select and he/she only has time for one game. So you then leave and have to wait five minutes or more. Logically if someone has decided to leave the game, actually made the commitment, they're gonna do it regardless of the minutes in punishment. So why even have them? They'll still leave. Whether its an emergency, non emergency, etc. is irrelevant. To of course make this not so hard to swallow, they'd need to remove the whole 20 minute cap on FF as that is just stupid. If Spray and Pray has to leave @3mins into the game for whatever reason he chooses or life throws at him, it is everyone else on his team who has to suffer the next 17mins til FF(unless they just boss mode the other team).Hell if he leaves any time before 15mins he gets less of a punishment than the other 9 people.... the 5mins isnt even a real punishment as all you do is pick up your phone and answer the 30texts you missed in the last hour and boom game on. So why even have it all? Im sure there are a few people who maybe dont have any texts and cant find anything to search about on google for 5mins but for the vast majority; we do. They could even do something more interesting such as given everyone the option to leave a game whenever they want and then league throws up the leave option to the other teams counter part of who ever requests to leave. There are better ways to handle these things. the time punishment for turning your pc off when something comes up and then coming back after the game ends is just not a good idea. Neither is making people wait to FF until 20mins... <--- worst decision world wide. almost worse than hillary clinton. If people gotta go; they gotta go. start up your next game.
