What if they said GG in recognition that although you were in a 4v5, you still put up a fight and came close to winning? I've been on both sides of that many times.

Fiction. It's possible for teams of 4 to win against teams of 5. Being down a member in no way, shape, or form means that the players on the 4 man team played poorly. It can indeed be a good game.
