Dunkey Vs. Riot

It's sad when a someone who loved making videos for game he respected and enjoyed gets banned for talking about someone who is literally just there to troll. If riot actually cared about their community and their game they would be focusing more on banning people who are there to troll. All of dunkey's "rage" has only been at those people who are there to troll their team and feed on purpose. All riot has to do to stop any of this from happening is just chat restrict people, you don't need to ban them. Maybe if riot focused on the trolls more than the trash talkers I would have respect for riot. But after witnessing all of how they have handled every situation that takes place every day, I have no respect for riot. They have lost at least 50 supporters of their game and I no longer wish to be part of a companies community where they couldn't give a shit about the trolls who are the real problem to their game. It's sad that the way that I found out and many many many of my other friends about league was from Dunkey. Fuck you riot, please go bankrupt.

I do agree that you shouldn't get banned from the game for saying things in chat. Worst punishment should be "toxic" chat is being banned from talking in chat....

Honestly i have no idea why riot think toxicity is such a huge problem, there is literally a mute button that stops it.

There is no button to stop trolling There is no button to stop AFKs There is no button to stop feeders

There is a button to stop toxicity

I 100% agree with Dunkey that the ranked system is so fucked and the fact i cant talk shit to people IN A VIDEO GAME is ridiculous. League of Legends has the potential to be an amazing competitive game, but the fact that i only play normals due to the fact that i cant trust one person on my team in ranked to do their part is extremely upsetting. Riot, get your head out of your ass and fix this shit. Also, unban the Dunk! It was unjust in every way.

I don't know I felt this way for a while, many of the new champs that have come through with their overloaded kits makes it seem like riot doesn't know how to balance their game. Dunkey brings up many good points as well. League is losing its appeal to me and the group I play with. Maybe its time to move on.

There is a lot of things Riot does that I don't agree with and I love Dunkey, but he knew the risks. Riot wants to keep their game clean and I can understand that. Before anyone tears me a new a-hole, I know the report system is broken in many ways but I think he could have avoided this pretty easy. Besides, it was just a 2 week ban, not a perma ban.

GG Riot helping out Toxic trolls 24/7! Wrong bans issued erryday.

Someone else doing something punishable does not make your punishable behavior suddenly unpunishable.

An easy way to avoid bans is to not exhibit behavior that is ban-worthy. There is a huge difference between competitive smack-talk and toxic behavior. It is not light-hearted "shit-talking" to start threatening other players' families, or to debase them, or to call them crude names related to sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, etc. This is called being toxic.

Is there a problem with trolls? Yes. Is there a problem with toxicity? Yes. But some people seem to think that one causes the other, and the truth is it doesn't. Trolls do not cause toxicity; toxic players cause toxicity. No one wants to play with or against trolls. No one wants to play with or against toxic players. Neither is better or worse than the other. Both are unhealthy to the game, and should be chat restricted and/or banned (in my opinion).

I would imagine it is probably easier to identify toxic communication than intentional feeders/trolls/intentional AFKs on a large scale, which is why they are probably more likely to be punished. If this is true, then I will concede this is a flaw.

TLDR: Negative behavior exhibited by other players in the game does not justify your negative behavior in the game. Trolls and toxic players alike are unhealthy to LoL and should be punished accordingly.

I just wish the community cared more than they do about something like this :/ this should be a flurry of people angry over this but it seems like it's just a few of us miffed over it. Kinda sad when you realize people have just giving up fighting riot at this point.

ok so....i watched the video, and as a "first time dunkey" i thought the guy was a total tool. BUT, ive had so many people tell me to go kill myself that havent gotten banned from the game (presumably) and im assuming this dunkey fellow was banned hardcore because he is in the spotlight with a successful youtube channel.

so as far as special treatment for "stars" goes...he was treated pretty special.

I have always wonder why you can be banned for shit talking. Besides the fact it happens anywhere there is competition; there is a mute button. Chat restriction is great, limited messages or they can't type in game if it gets bad enough. By responding harshly to toxicity, you don't get people to stop being toxic, you get people to stop playing your game. Personally I don't care that he is banned. I care that you think that dunkey doesn't have that large of a fan base. Like look at bronze and silver chat.
