I feel like it'd be extremely convenient if I could check patch notes, news, etc. using an app on my mobile device. It would give me something to read while killing time, and it'd get my brain flowing about League.
Maybe it's just me, but I want an app! :)
More to the point I think I want an App that syncs with my actual league of legends profile. Something that would allow me to set up my Rune pages, Masteries, and Item Sets. That's the main thing, but digging a little deeper being able to shop the store and make purchases of skins, champs, or whatever would be nice as well. There are times where I'm away from my computer, have my phone and think man it would be great if i could set some stuff up for league so i can just get right to the meat when i get a chance to play again. I'm sure you could add in some other stuff like chat, timers, some champion info, and news stories. Having it sync up with the boards would be a plus as well.
Please Riot! I would even pay for it! Like maybe the free one lets you look at everything, but $1 lets you sync it up with your account.
Saw a figure that 27 million people play league... that's a lot... Lets say a tenth of those people bought the app that's 2.7m monies minus development/upkeep cost.

There are apps though. There's one called Champions on Android marketplaces that's pretty good for having champ info, current sales, and current rotations. There's also the LoLWiki app too, which is basically the entire site which has everything you need to know. Both of these are great apps, and I can't imagine you'd need more than those two for the amount of info they contain.
It wouldn't shock me at all if Riot was already brainstorming ideas for an app. It might just be in very early concept phase right now, but I'd give it maybe a year or two until we get a nice surprise.
I think before Riot works on an App for league they need to fix the client, it's horribly outdated and lacks basic functions (like having to completely reload the store any time you click out of it, or are forced out of it, instead of it returning to the store page you were at. That's ridiculous).
No, please! I don't want a reason to buy a smart phone!
