'LeaverBuster' and 'Attempting to reconnect' bullshit. Fix it.

Let me get straight into the problem.

I wanted to play a normal game, clicked play and went into champion select menu and then into the 'game loading' menu. When suddenly, everything turned black, I couldn't exit the patcher and it didn't allow me to view any other application so I had to restart my computer.

I restarted the computer and was greeted with 'attempting to reconnect' screen. I clicked 'reconnect' and the 'something went wrong' screen showed up. It asked me to write a report about the problem I was experiencing, so I did. I attempted to reconnect again and the same thing happened again for 10 mins. That is 15 mins gone.

After I attempted to reconnect multiple times, the patcher crashed. I opened the patcher again and a message popped up saying that the files were corrupt and that I had to wait till they get fixed. So I waited and about 20 mins and excepted to see the 'reconnect' button, but I didn't. Instead, the leaverbuster slapped a 20 min ban on my back.

I understand that the system is there to prevent people from leaving the game intentionally but this is fucking ridiculous. The problem was from your bloody servers and I end up being the one who receives the punishment? I didn't even get into the actual game yet.

Fix your system riot, for the love of god.

It seems to be a common misconception that Leaverbuster is there to stop intentional leavers, but that's not the whole truth. It's also there to stop people with frequent connection problems as well. It's unfortunate that you got punished after this particular leave, but it is highly unlikely that Riot will change anything about Leaverbuster anytime soon. Also, I can tell you that the problem was not directly from Riot's servers. If it were, then it would affect most if not everyone that was playing, not just you.

Now, something you should know is that you did not get this punishment for this particular instance alone. Riot knows that sometimes unforeseen circumstances happen that cause us to leave a game unannounced, which is why they built some leniency into the system. It doesn't punish you for one or two occasional leaves, it punishes you when you show a history of leaving multiple games within a short enough period of time. If you get punished by Leaverbuster, you have used up that leniency and then some.

Keep in mind that Leaverbuster flags more that just actual leaves/disconnects. It will also flag you if you disconnect for an extended period of time even if you reconnect to the game, as well as if you stand idle or run around doing absolutely nothing useful for too long, and much more that people don't realize. Also, the fact that you have the 20 minute wait punishment shows that you have been punished by Leaverbuster before in the past, as that is not given out as the first punishment.

Funny, Me and millions of others don't seem to have this problem. It must be RIOT's then. Fix yer shit.
