The Cancer Of League

As a new low level player of League I am very tempted to never play again due to the cancerous nature of the community. I cried the first time that I played pvp. The people on my team kept harassing me to the point that I had to quit the game. I love the nature and idea of this game, but the community has become cancerous. No one can attempt to learn this game in the atmosphere that currently exists. There are so many "smurf" accounts out there that out of every 10 low level people at least 7 of them are level 30 on their main account. These smurf accounts are created so that high level players can feel like gods when they pound noobs. Its entirely unfair. We need to fix this cancer before we kill off any chance that we have at gaining new players.

It can be pretty rough for new players. Not only are there a lot of smurfs but a lot of them made those new accounts because they were banned on their mains. So its not just better people, it is also disproportionately bad behaving people. Unfortunately as it stands you just have to play through it. It can take up to 150 games to really be properly placed but as you play more games it should get better and better. There were also pretty significant upgrades to the punishment systems in the last patch so that should also help as well since speed of detection has always been a major problem.

Use the mute button liberally. Report when you find it necessary. And most importantly don't let them drag you into the mud.

The more you play the easier it gets. Even if you dont play ranked and play normals a bunch it will get better. newbies are annoying I remember those days :(
