They already give us sales, events with free icons, and let us enjoy eSports for free. They are a company and they have to be concerned for their business side. Free RP for everyone that plays sounds nice in theory but that is a huge chunk out of the companies net profits. Plus this doesn't account for how many people would just spam smurf accounts over and over to get free RP to gift their main account with or inactive accounts or banned accounts or anything.

Maybe if it were like, 100 rp every 1,000 games. So you would actually work for it.

A system like this has merit, but Riot has to be careful to not give incentives for certain milestones that might encourage selfish or bad play. Something standard like wins or a total number of games played might be good, but anything like kills or turrets or CS numbers would lead to bad behavior in game from players only concerned for reaching those instead of working with their team.

to me i think riot would loose a tremendous amount of money from that. if you want RP join their recruiting program and get people to refer you.

Now you got to think about Riot themselves. Because right now, you're thinking about yourselves. If Riot does this, then they would lose money just like other people have said in this thread. Try being more considerate as this game IS free. And they do a lot already to try keep this game going on. Their goal is to profit from the money they get from people who buy RP. If they can't make profit from that, then there won't be a League of Legends game to play.

Edit: Plus if they were to also give out that much RP every season to EVERY player, then they would lose a lot of money.

but they can do it to how many seasons or days, weeks, or years they have being playing or they can do is give free skins or champions randomly

They still lose money, because there are still A LOT of people who have been playing for years. Just buy your own RP if you want it so bad.

Edit: plus, they give already give out two free champions and skins if you subscribe to their Youtube and Like their Facebook page.

they give us a lot just for free however i like where you're going because you're not that greedy you just want some rp like when you turned level 3 that would be fine

You already get a small amount of RP for free when you turn level four I believe.

no, this is a terrible idea for riot...something that riot could theoretically implement would be something like 1rp each time you succesfully judge someone on the tribunal...this way it would give an incentive for the banning system to function correctly and so that people also get something for improving the community

That is also a terrible idea. Any monetary incentive for Tribunal will just lead to everyone or at least a large influx of people just spamming punish for every case. This would drastically lower the integrity of the Tribunal and lead to the "correct" result becoming a permanent punishment due to the high number of spammed punish votes.

You know what would happen if Riot did this? Endless smurf accounts.

If every account got 520RP per season, someone could get 1 mystery gift from all of his smurf accounts every year.
If every account got 250RP per season, someone could get 1 mystery gift from all of his smurf accounts every other year.

People wouldn't buy RP for skins if they could just make 50 smurfs and add themselves to their main's friend list. At the end of the year, that's 50 free skins.
