Allow Gifting with IP

Ok, so I have a lot of Influence Points, but I've already bought most of the things that I could ever want with them, so I've decided I want to start buying my friends things. One of the things I've noticed though, is that you can currently only gift using Riot Points. It would be a good idea if Riot started allowing people to gift using Influence Points. I understand if they don't because some people would possibly abuse the game and make multiple accounts for the win of the day. But there would also be some people that wouldn't abuse it. It would be a better system to have you be able to gift with IP and a lot of people would really appreciate it.

How about a 100 to 1 conversion?

100 IP > 1 RP

If you set a high min. of IP that must be donated, then the FWotD point is invalid. Also, gifting should only apply to 6300/4800 champions nothing less.

Ok, so you guys do bring up some points with all of the abusers and bot accounts, but I would like to bring up is that you have some of the same setups with gifting RP. What I am saying is that you would have to be a certain level to gift IP or anything bought with IP.

This is a bad idea. Its a free to play game the only way riot makes money is through Micro-Transactions and sponsorship. Being able to gift with IP would ruin a way of earning money for them. Unless one gift was like 20K IP lol

As it would be convenient riot still needs a way to make money. there would be no point in having RP in this case.

If gifting IP was an ability ~~purchased with 450 RP~~ required the summoner to charge RP to his account first + grants a donor icon, that wouldn't be a problem because even abusers must buy RP to use this feature.

Well, the only thing you would be able to gift with IP anyways would be champions, since everything else you could gift literally only costs RP. If Riot made it possible to gift anything with IP, that would certainly lose them A TON of money, so they would definitely have to limit this to champions only (that is if they were to do this).

However, I think it's safe to assume that a large majority of the players still spend quite a bit of money to buy champions with RP since it takes so long to build up enough IP to get a decent amount of champions, not to mention also needing to buy runes with IP. Since there are a lot players with a shit ton of IP that they can't spend on anything, they would just spend that IP to gift a lot of champions to their friends. So even if Riot were to limit this to champions only, they would very likely lose quite a bit of money from RP purchases because of it, since people would likely no longer feel the need to buy RP to unlock champions.

This would be awesome so that I can start buycheapchamp.com and find players to sell champs to other players with IP for like $1 and I can take a cut.

I think this would be really cool I also think it would be cool to give like your extra ip to people but I do feel like that would be abused like how you said

you know how many ways people can exploit that? streamers with hundreds of thousands of ip can give viewers champions
