Three Years Later, Finally Uninstalled This Game

TL;DR - I'm officially done with League of Legends.

It has gotten to the point where, every single game I play, every single interaction with a member of the community, has not just become a chore, but a gritting, pained effort to try and improve my own rank and skill. This game's player community has, by far, been the most toxic, disgusting, brutal, agonizingly and purposefully offensive that I have ever had the displeasure of being among. There is such little effort being put forward by people in improving, or wanting to improve, and substituted with a seemingly insatiable desire to put everyone else down. And each time a player like myself tries to help or offer advice for people to improve something, or advise to try something different, it is met with a never-failing troll barrage of obscenities, cursing, and death threats.

And this is found in every ELO. And the number one reason is, people in this community don't want to improve themselves; they don't want to get better. They just want everyone around them to get worse. You can't mute that. You can't ignore that. You can't just put that to the side when it's the cause of total lack of teamwork or desire for teamwork, as well as the cause of why the game's ladder system is nowhere near its "fair, competitive" balance that the developers so badly strive for.

I have faithfully tried to work through this game's up and down balance and mechanical issues in its champion pool - from when Kassadin was banned 95% of the time to the current lethality issues that plague the game. But this community has officially driven me away from the game I tried to love. And I will never return because of it.

One thing I had is that if you want to climb you have to mediate when your team is flaming each other. I'm not here to be a fucking psychiatrist. 2 games ago I played with a toxic duo lane that refused to accept fault for their own deaths. I managed to carry them to a win later on but the fact that they were constantly crying about how bad I was or how bad the rest of the team was is mentally taxing.

Muting is an option but it doesn't change the fact that a person will play worse as long as they're typing. Even if I have them muted I'll know in the back of my mind that they're getting upset and potentially making the game a loss because of it.

I just wish people didn't put so much weight onto an individual's rank in this game. Not everyone is diamond, not everyone can be or has the time to be. Does that automatically make them bad? No.

What game will you try next? Or are you just going to go play those RPG games like Skyrim? I'm genuinely curious about what ex-League players do...

Last I seriously played myself was back in S3. 4 years later decide to give it another run, nothing's changed and if anything the game feels worse than it was 4 years ago. So now I just pop back in for a random quick play match every now and then.
