I want to play Shaco so badly but his clone is really dumb right now

How do you even control it? I used to press R after activating ult and he would either go to my pointer location or attack whatever my pointer is pointing at (and he also used to attack whatever I would be attacking). Now he either just stands there or runs the opposite direction. This champion went from being fun to unplayable. To be fair, I think a lot of the mechanics in his kit are really cool aside from this glaring problem, and it's fun to see new changes.
