@Reds About to graduate in software engineering and need help

Hello everyone,

Currently i'm an undergraduate, but soon™ I will be graduating with a bachelors degree in the computer science field. My main programming languages are C++ and C# using visual studio, but also picked up a little in knowledge in javascript by using eclipse; because I sometimes like to tinker around with my android devices. Whenever I have free-time from school work and my job I try to make small games with Unity3D and Unreal Engine 4. Although sadly all the games I create get left unfinished either by other things I want to try out and create, or again with a lot of my time prioritizing school and my job. One thing I did create is a simple ASCII game engine for creating a rogue-like game. I became extremely satisfied with it, even though it was small it was one of the first few things I actually created nearly from scratch.

I've always wanted to apply for an internship at riot games -you have no idea how badly I've wanted to do this-, but the things that prevented me from doing so was (1) I didn't feel too confident in my programming skills to actually survive, (2) unable to finish a program or a game to start crafting my portfolio, and (3) taking all year round courses making it extremely difficult to even try to apply for an internship even in the summer time.

What I really want to ask a Red, or anyone who has a job in software engineering is what exactly should be in a portfolio that can impress a junior level recruiter? I would definitely like to apply for a 2016 internship at Riot, but since I'm graduating before hand I might not able to receive that chance anymore; unless they don't mind after-grad interns.

To be honest I am scared because I am unsure if I am deemed a worthy junior-level programmer, but I can also take constructive criticism when it comes to my work.

If any Red is down to respond here, shoot me a friend request in game to chat (and possible play), or even better want to chat with me on skype; just anything at all I would just greatly appreciate it!

Thank you for your time and responses!
