What's gonna happen to the leftover project cores from this "project event"? Do they just disappear because I spent a lot of rp getting augmented chests and have already unlocked all the new borders and the project skin shard blueprint with my project cores but I still have about 120 project cores remaining and it seems like a waste since I can't do anything with them :(

A rioter mentioned somewhere they might be able to be disenchanted into blue essence.

They will be able to be disenchanted after the event
