After waiting for 10 mins in the team-builder queue, an idea dawned on me...
What if there were a mini-game in the team builder queue that people could play? Or, heck, any queue. I've seen high elo streamers wait for 20 minutes before. It could easily fill a niche that things like Hearthstone and other games fill.
It could be some sort of poro-themed snake or tetris style game, or some sort of league trivia game; it doesn't really matter. If it happened in short rounds it might be easier. If it were a trivia game or a little 'repeat after me' (think simon says) the rounds would each be 10 secs or so. This might help people stick around in queues and offer a little bit more to the experience of League in general (it is "Riot games" after all).
To expand further, the game could offer points for winning the mini-game. This could possibly be small amounts of IP or chances to win mystery skins or something. This I'm not totally sure about, but I feel like there is a good idea somewhere in my ramblings.
What do you guys think? Is this an original idea, or has someone else already thought of this?
PS. Anyone played "I made a game with zombies in it"?
