Riot's Current Skin Re-Release Promotions
I want voice a complaint I have about the way Riot Games is currently handling its rework/re-release of champions/skins bundles. Over the years, I have taken almost every opportunity to obtain the skins which will "enter the vault" and become legacy, because my interest in the skins is strictly for collecting. The only ones I pass up are the ones which Riot specifically says are "limited availability" but will "return next event" i.e. snow-day skins or Halloween skins that come back each holiday. As Riot has been reworking champions such as heimerdinger, sion, and more recently poppy, part of your promotion strategy is to include a re-release of their old/legacy skins. This is greatly diminishing their value to me and starting to make me regret purchasing them in the first place as now every player is using them too. What bothers me even more is that when they were released the first time, it was stated that they would never be available again or very very unlikely (this obviously didn't apply to all of them but is a general sense of what was said with each "retirement" event). I feel like I've been robbed of their value (at least to me as a collectible item) and want to know this isn't something of concern to Riot. I know that Riot has at least some concern for it when it comes to specific types of skins such as PAX event skins as they went to extensive lengths to make sure fakes were not being obtained and then eventually ended all possibility of getting them again, as well as specifically removed them as possible rewards from mystery skin chests. So why weren't these legacy skins given some consideration in this way too? I mean, if Riot is willing to re-release content so that it is not longer prestigious, I would very much love for you to make PAX Twisted Fate one such skin available so I can complete my PAX collection. I hope you understand the point I'm trying to make here and appreciate you taking the time to hear my concerns. Thanks, xMasterTao
