So I am planning on buying a new laptop. Preferably around $1000 US. Does anyone have suggestions as to which ones would be the best for league at around 100 FPS? I have already looked at the Lenovo Y50 and the Asus ROG and V Nitro.

well I average around 50-70 now and its decent for me but as I have gotten more competitive I really wanted to try playing at higher levels of reaction times and graphics quality. 100 was just a rough estimate.

Where do you live that you are able to pick the parts for a laptop and build it? Desktops aren't a solution for everyone.

It's ironic you're trying to say I didn't read properly, I am clearly stating that gaming pc is more economically affordable if his only goal is to play League of Legends.

He never mentioned any triple A titles that he wants to play so as far as we know he only wants to play League.

Reading comprehension = Being able to understand what you're reading. Reading comprehension much = Not even grammatically correct, but wouldn't it imply even better reading comprehension?

When a person is asking for a laptop, then it's understood that they need a computer that's more mobile. It's likely for someone who need to take it to their college classes or has to travel a lot. If you were concerned they were spending too much for just playing League, then the sensible suggestion you made wouldn't have been "build a gaming pc", but rather "why don't you get a cheeper laptop if you're just playing League".

As for the economical "gaming pc" (not "all around pc"), you're still looking at around $500 for just the tower, which is in the price point of laptops that could play League at full settings.

At the end of the day, you typed your response without thinking and others are pointing out the limitations of your advice.

Pretty much any gaming laptop at that kind of price would play league as well as it can be played.

wait for thanksgiving, get a y50 with at least a 256 ssd, 16gb ram, and the 4GB GTX860m. you might be a little over the $1k mark, but thanksgiving provides great deals so i think its plausible to get one like that!

the reason i mention the better specs is that you are going to own that computer for more than 3 years. with those specs you dont have to worry about it being slow! in a year or 2.

and btw, any $1000 laptop will play league at pretty high settings. the computer above will do more than that.

Thanks for the tip. From what I have read it seems like the y50 is the way to go. It looks like just about everyone recommends it. One of the decisions I was trying to make was to get a higher RAM model or lesser for a lower price. I was looking on Ebay and Amazon and the 8 gb version with a TB hard drive seems to be around 800. The TB isn't much of a big deal for me because I never store much on my computer except for school related documents anyway. Hopefully thanksgiving will have some good black friday/cyber monday deals.

what i do when i order laptops for my firm is, that i get them with the lowest amount of ram and the shittiest harddrive and then i update myself to 16gb and a 1tb ssd. manufacturers up charge a lot for RAM ans SSD's. we save around 400-500$ that way. thats for workstation laptops though. With the consumer laptop look at the price difference between a y50 with or without SSD and also with 8GB vs 16 GB. the graphics card should be a 860M in any case. If you want to save some $ on RAM get a model with 8GB (will run fine) you can always get more later, i'd say for performance you want to be in the 16 GB eventually.

if you ever want to stream, you should have 16gb.
