Cant log into a different account on my computer

Yesterday my roommate wanted to use his account on my computer because his was streaming a movie for us. He was able to log in but it wouldn't let him connect to the server. Upon entering his information the cant connect to pvp.net notice on the log in screen would pop up and league would proceed to crash. i was able to log in after him with my info. Any clue why this is happening?
